STIMMA Director: Veneta Anand

Veneta Anand, founder of STIMMA, graduated from the University of Manitoba Faculty of Pharmacy and also earned a Bachelor of Arts degree with a major in Psychology in 2001. She has been working as a pharmacist for many years in Southwestern Ontario. Since 2003, Veneta has successfully owned and operated various Shoppers Drug Marts in the Kitchener/Waterloo area. She currently is the owner of the 24 hour location at Bridgeport and Weber. Veneta also is a Teacher's Assistant at the University of Waterloo Faculty of Pharmacy where she provides guidance to students in 1st and 2nd year Dispensing Lab. Veneta is currently a candidate for the 2013 Gaia University Masters Program in International Development.

Veneta first began traveling to underserviced communities in 2006. Since then she has travelled to various destinations to help with the clinic set up and the distribution of medication. She has also acted as a consultant with other non profit organizations to provide support and guidance to maximize community care.

STIMMA Director: Linsay Buss

LINSAY BUSS lives in Maple Ridge, BC, where she works as a staff representative for the BCGEU, specializing in employee benefits, rehabilitation and return to work planning.

Linsay has an education in social sciences and a background in healthcare. She worked for 16 years in an institution for the mentally challenged, providing patient care, before she changed jobs in 1994, to represent workers.

For many years, Linsay volunteered with various organizations and local community outreach programs to provide services and resources to people living on the street and in poverty. She also dedicated many hours to a 24-hour crisis line, working in addiction services, and to programs for people living with handicaps.

In 2006, she first realized a dream of humanitarian work in another country, joining the first mission trip to Peru. She is usually assigned to teaching life skills and proper hygiene
